The existing building will be modernised with a redesigned façade and interior in order to launch a new cafe on Bermondsey Street in central London. The proposed ground floor level has large glazed openings and is re-clad with ceramic tiles that wrap around the corner of the building. The flank elevation faces onto the pedestrian route which leads to the entrance of the boutique hotel next door. Traditional glazed tiles and formal features found on the street are re-interpreted in a contemporary way with simple, clean detailing and subtle relief effects
