Nestled on a tree-lined river site in the Norfolk Broads and surrounded by protected wet carr woodland, this timber-framed cabin is elevated above flood levels to capture long views across the river. Composed of two tapered gable forms linked by a glazed central corridor, the cabin is immersed in its natural setting, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing water and woodland views.

Landscaping is integral to the design, with a planted, accessible ramp wrapping around the house and balconies projecting over native planting. Living spaces are oriented southward to embrace the riverside, while bedrooms and a study enjoy more secluded garden views.

The vaulted, timber-clad interiors offer a generous sense of space and warmth. Designed as a low-energy, semi off-grid home, it features photovoltaic panels, battery storage, and a packaged sewage treatment system—minimising its environmental impact on this sensitive site.
