Creating identity in a 330-unit building with co-working spaces
We have secured planning consent for a development of 14 high quality private and affordable homes on land previously used for agriculture as a small extension to the attractive village of Hunsdon, Hertfordshire.
The character of the development aims to transition between the historic village centre and rural landscape beyond. A central communal landscaped village square is proposed, extending the concept of Hunsdon’s existing “5 village greens” into the new site and putting informal play and community space at the heart of the scheme.
The houses are composed of simple rectangular plans and are arranged in an informal manner, built in a light warm grey and red brick, black timber cladding and steep pitched slate roofs.
Internally, layouts have been developed to suit the modern rural lifestyle - with robust entrance halls for muddy boots and wet coats and views to gardens and open farmland beyond through large areas of glazing.
